Working during storm

San Francisco Bay area was facing one of its rare storms a couple of weeks back. There was so much hype surrounding this in the media including flash flood warnings, schools closing, companies advising employees to avoid commute etc. Flash flood or not, I received a flood of  WFH (Work from home) emails from my team mates that morning. Storms do not scare me and what more, I love driving in wet conditions. So I went to work that day and composed this sarcastic yet humor intended email to my team.

Ah yes, the free car wash (thanks to rains) was the icing on the cake. LOL.

How poor can it get? A tell tale.

There is this friend of mine who is pretty good at spinning stories and making people believe in everything he says. The other day he goes -
"I visited this cafe and bar in the city this afternoon. Not too crowded. They have a wonderful set of beverages. They actually have a good collection of hard bound books to read while you are there. Imagine actual books in E-fied world. Surreal! I ordered tea while leaving through "Journey to the center of the earth". I must've been there about an hour before I decided the best beverage to pair with my winding story is Pale Ale. I emptied a few glasses of ale along with Jules Verne's classic before calling it a day."

A simple narration but I made out quite immediately that it was all a tale. How did I guess?

Simple. He had 'T'ea before Ale. Get it? ;-)

An entry on Pneumonia

I was looking up "Pneumonia" online and here's what I found on webmd, the most trusted site for medical information. I found the entry pretty amusing.

"You can get pneumonia in your daily life, such as at school or work. This is called community-associated pneumonia. You can also get it when you are in a hospital or nursing home. This is called healthcare-associated pneumonia."

What next? You can also get it when you are in a flight or a bus. This is called travel-associated pneumonia. You can also get it when you are on vegan diet or wearing a emerald necklace. This is called green-associated pneumonia.

"Germs called bacteria or viruses usually cause pneumonia."

I was under the impression that leeches and spiders are responsible for most infections known to man. Hold on, it gets better.

"When you have mild symptoms, your doctor may call this 'walking pneumonia'".

When the symptoms gets worse, the nurse may call this 'running pneumonia'. When symptoms are severe and you feel you are going to die, the surgeon may call this 'leaping pneumonia'. Lord Haydes or Lord Yama may call this 'welcome pneumonia' but that's immaterial.

I am not sure who entered this for webmd. But sure was a lot of fun to read.
